John Selby

d. August 19, 1835

  • It seems likely that John was the oldest sibling. When his father died as a widower, then John, if he was of age, might have become head of the family and responsible for his younger siblings.
  • On October 10, 1786, John inherited one-seventh (an equal portion) of his father Joseph's property, both real and personal. [PG WB T1.235; CR34.681]
  • John's final accounts do not include a wife or children, only his siblings. [PG Accounts 2.136]
